Happy Independence Day!

To all of you, from me and mine. 

I had hit up Michelle Malkin’s site this morning, and she had a thread that had you complete the sentence, “I am proud of my country because....”

Well.....I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to start a little ol’ thread on the subject here, would it?

I’ll even start:

I am proud of my country because are the bastion of liberty and freedom in the world....that we are the greatest power in the history of the planet, yet we have no urge to subjugate or imperially rule....that we protect the rights of the individual at the expense of the power of the government....and, that we have fought across the globe for these ideals, “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”
